Just 25 miles west of Philadelphia, this suburban area has been among the fastest growing. An area of natural beauty filled with rolling topography, streams, horse farms, shopping malls, points of historic importance, excellent schools, and a wide variety of employment opportunities, the Brandywine Valley is traversed by major roadways such as the PA Turnpike, the hi-tech Rt202 corridor, and Rts. 30, 1, and 100 in addition to both Amtrak train service & regional rail service.
Additionally, this area provides easy access to other points of interest such as the Jersey shore, Baltimore seaport, Hershey, PA, the Poconos ski areas, and even New York City.
Major employers include pharmaceutical companies, banks, and software companies.
This area offers many points of historic interest as well. Certainly Philadelphia with Independence Hall, Franklin Plaza, the Liberty Bell & the Betsy Ross house is a tourist mecca. West Chester, the county seat, contains buildings designed by nationally recognized architects. It is home to the County Courthouse, Chester County Hospital, & West Chester University as well as the Chester County Historical Society & Museum and numerouse restaurants & galleries. Smaller towns abound along with many new housing developments, Marsh Creek State Park, the Exton Square Mall, and many activities for people of all ages & interests. It's a wonderful place to call home!
