Malvern was slow to expand, flourishing after the 1832 West Chester Rail line completion. The Duffy's Cut stretch of railroad line is a popular place to explore this aspect of Malvern’s history. During the Civil War, Pennsylvania’s 52nd Regiment Infantry once again brought historic import to Malvern. The Malvern community is currently developing an initiative to create Patriots Path, a walking trail which would connect three Chester County Revolutionary War historic sites. Malvern flourished during its Victorian era and our modern community reflects our past in the maintained brick paving, historically preserved street lamps and Victorian facades of our business district.
